Appointment Process

Four steps.
No confusion.

We believe every family deserves clarity before they commit. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you submit your application to the day your pet comes home.

Important: Submitting the online form is an application, not an instant confirmed booking. Our team reviews every application within 1–2 business days and contacts you to confirm your appointment.

Step One

Submit Your Application

Complete the online application form with your contact information, details about your pet, and your preferred appointment dates. The form takes less than five minutes to complete and requires no payment upfront.

What you will need: Your name, phone, email, and city. Your pet’s species, sex, approximate age and weight. One or two preferred surgery dates. Optionally, documentation of any financial assistance program enrollment if you are applying for grant assistance.
II
Step Two

Our Team Reviews Your Application

After submission, a member of our staff reviews your application. We check current schedule availability, confirm your pet meets the age and weight requirements, and verify any grant eligibility you may have noted. Most applications are reviewed within one to two business days.

County restriction notice: We are currently not accepting female dog or cat appointments from Davidson, Sumner, Williamson, or Rutherford Counties. If your application is from one of these counties, we will refer you to an alternative clinic. Please visit spaytennessee.org for nearby options.
III
Step Three

We Contact You to Confirm

We will call or email you using the contact information you provided. During this contact, we will confirm a specific date and time for your pet’s surgery, answer any questions you have, and send you pre-surgery preparation instructions.

Pre-surgery instructions include: Withholding food and water before surgery (specific times will be provided). What to bring on surgery day. What to expect during drop-off. Any documentation to bring if you qualify for grant assistance.
IV
Step Four

Surgery Day

Bring your pet to our clinic at 846 Union St., Shelbyville, TN 37160 at your confirmed appointment time. Our veterinary team will perform the surgery, and most pets go home the same day. You will receive full post-operative care instructions at discharge.

After surgery: Keep your pet quiet and confined for 7–10 days. No baths, no strenuous activity. Check the incision site twice daily. Use an Elizabethan collar if your pet attempts to lick the incision. Call us at (931) 684-5353 with any concerns. See our full post-op care guide.
